This mixed method study sought to fill gaps in existing research on how home visiting programs support staff to successfully engage parents during home visiting sessions by examining how home visitors, 1) feel about parent engagement; 2) describe and rate their training in engagement; and 3) monitor parent engagement during visits. Study findings suggest that parent engagement can be a challenging topic for home visitors and that there is a continued need for training in parental engagement.
